Diving bass bugs are a stroke of genius. The deer hair above the head of the diving bass bugs have been cut at an angle to make the fly dart and dive into the water when the line is stripped during the retrieve. It makes these bugs appear alive. They become very attractive, fascinating animated prey for the larger predatory hunting bass.
